New attractions in Ottawa Gatineau
A new family oriented attraction has opened in Hull-Gatineau featuring the latest trends in kids entertainment for kids under the age of 12. Canada Agricultural Museum
The agricultural museum in ottawa is a great place to spend the day with kids and the whole family on the grounds of the NCC agricultural farm just minutes from downtown south along the scenic prince of wales drive. Find all kinds of animals seen on farms in Canada including Cows, Sheep, Chickens, Pigs, horses, goats and rabbits. Take a ride on a horse drawn wagon, or have your kids play in the playground outside the farm buildings.

Papanack Zoo
About a 30 minute drive east of Orleans or about one hours drive from downtown Ottawa on highway 174 to Wendover you will find papanack zoo. Parc Omega
Located on the quebec side of the border about an hours drive from downtown ottawa going east just minutes from the famous Chateau Montebello you will find parc omega. Parc omega's unique concept is a 1500 acre park that you drive through with your car while getting visits from all kinds of friendly animals that come up to your vehicle for food. You can bring some carrots and feed them through your open windows of your car. Kids will love this unique concept. Victoria Day Stores - Hours and openings
This Victoria day Monday stores will be closed in Ottawa except for the
Rideau Center (10:00am to 6:00pm) and the byward market (designated tourist shopping) all LCBO stores are closed in Ontario. Gatineau Stores will be open for business, if you are looking to buy beer or wine you can purchase them at places like Costco, corner stores and SAQ official liquor stores.

The Canadian Tulip Festival - May 2 - 19 2008
Come visit a spectacular display of close to a million tulips in more than 50 varieties throught the city and take the scenic drive along the ridea canal to dows lake for a beautiful view of all the spendor of the tulip beds that bloom each spring in Ottawa. This years event features a merry go round for kids at Majors Hill Park.

Ottawa Flotilla is May 19th and 20th
Bring the whole family and park your kiester along the rideau canal and watch the boat parade on water. Boats are decorated with lights and all kinds of creative colors and decorations for the annual flotilla on the historic rideau canal.

The International Chicken and Rib Cookoff - June 18 - 22 - 2008
If you like chicken and ribs, then the international chicken and rib cookoff on the sparks street mall is a must do in June. There are teams from Canada and the Us who compete for best rib sauce, best ribs and best chicken. Enjoy a full rack of ribs or a combination of chicken and ribs complete with salad and bread.

Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival - June 20 - 22, 2008
The ottawa dragon boat race festival is part of a larger chinese tradition that goes back over 2,400 years. The festival is now the largest of it's kind in canada with over 190 teams participating. What started out as a race has now become a festival at mooney's bay beach and has become a crowd favorite in ottawa providing entertainment, a food court and many local vendors as well as activities for kids.

Canada Day - July 1st 2008
Canada day in the nation's capital has an unending list of things to do including entertainment all day on parliament hill with some of canada's biggest artists. Ceremonies kick off at noon with a note from the prime minister followed by an armed forces flypast and ongoing events all day long finishing off the day with a spectular display of fireworks. HOPE Volleyball Tourament - Saturday July 12, 2008

Hope's annual volleyball tournament for local charities is a recreational volleyball tournament with more than 25,000 players that includes a rock concert at the same time later in the day until 6:00 pm when both the concert and tournament come to a close.

New attractions for Ottawa Coming in 2009
Calypso Park at Limoges Ontario expected to open in early June to Labour day weekend 2009 and Alottawata; Moodie Drive and Proslide Technologies highway 416 between Manotick and Richmond is scheduled to open at the same time as Calypso Park in early June of 2009 should be a great fun activity for kids and the whole family.
